This is Gujarat’s second win in four matches at home in IPL-2023. Batting first in this match, after Shubman Gill’s half-century, Gujarat scored 207 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs on the basis of stormy innings of Abhinav Manohar and David Miller. Mumbai could score only 152 runs after losing nine wickets after playing the entire over.

Shubman Gill, Abhinav Manohar, David Miller played an important role in this victory of Gujarat. Along with this, the Afghan pair of this team also troubled Mumbai a lot. Mumbai batsmen could not stand in front of the spin of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed.

Mumbai’s bad start

Mumbai had to score 208 runs to win. In front of this huge score, the five-time winner needed a fast start but he did not get it. Captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed on the last ball of the second over. Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya caught him out on his own ball. Here Mumbai’s score was only four runs.

Gill again showed his strength

Even the beginning of Gujarat was not good. Arjun Tendulkar had sent Wriddhiman Saha to the pavilion on the first ball of the third over. Rashid Khan remained unbeaten after scoring two runs. Piyush Chawla took two wickets for Mumbai. Tendulkar, Jason Behrendorff, Meredith and Kartikeya took one wicket each.

Gujarat equals Chennai

After this victory, Gujarat has equaled Chennai. Both the teams now have 10-10 points. The Gujarat team has reached the second position from fourth.
