Sharjah Cricket Stadium will have a stand named after Sachin Tendulkar

New Delhi: There is no dearth of achievements for Sachin Tendulkar. The whole world acknowledges the fame he has earned by playing cricket for 24 years. During this, Sachin scored runs in every corner of the world. Somewhere a tsunami of runs arose from his bat and somewhere a whirlwind. And, such was his Sharjah innings played in the year 1998, for which he was honored on completion of 25 years.

Sharjah Cricket has unveiled a stand named after Sachin at the stadium in his honour. This stand was unveiled on Sachin’s 50th birthday. The biggest reason for building a stand in the name of Sachin at Sharjah Cricket Ground was the storm he created there in the year 1998.

When Sachin Tendulkar created a storm in Sharjah

Sharjah Cricket Stadium is known for two stormy innings of Sachin Tendulkar. One which he played on the day of 22 April 1998 and the other which he played on the day of his 25th birthday i.e. 24 April 1998. Both these innings of Master Blaster were against Australia.

Sachin Tendulkar scored a century in both these innings. In the inning he played on April 22, he scored 143 runs in 131 balls. Then a day later i.e. on April 24, when he faced Australia again, he scored 134 runs in 131 balls.

Stand at Sharjah, Gate at SCG

Due to these two innings of Sachin, now a stand named after him has been made in Sharjah Cricket Stadium. By the way, this is not the first such gift he received on his 50th birthday. Earlier, a gate named after him has been built at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
