Mohali: The team of Punjab Kings is in front of Lucknow Super Giants on Friday in IPL-2023. This is the second match of this season between these two teams. The name of this bowler is Gurnoor Brar.

Gurnoor was not bought by Punjab in the auction, but he came to the team as a replacement. Raj Angad Bawa of Punjab is not playing this season. He is injured. Gurnoor got a chance in his place and now he is going to play his first IPL match.

Mumbai Indians carved out

Gurnoor is undoubtedly getting a chance to make his IPL debut from Punjab, but Mumbai Indians have also contributed in bringing him here. Gurnoor has played in the Reliance Cricket Academy of Mumbai Indians. With this team, he went on a tour of England in 2022. He played a few matches on this tour. He played matches against Kent and Sussex.

He started bowling with Jaydev Unadkat. He took two wickets for 34 runs against the Second Division team of Kent. Although he could not take wickets against Sussex, he gave only 12 runs in two overs.

Gurnoor is not only a great bowler but he also shows his mettle with the bat. In the Ranji Trophy this year, he batted brilliantly by coming at number nine. When the team’s score was 147 runs losing seven wickets, he played a stormy inning of 60 runs in 64 balls. He played this innings against Jammu and Kashmir. This innings was played by Gurnoor in Mohali only. This match was named after Punjab.

In 2019, Gurnoor was part of the winning team of Red Bull Campus 2019. In this match, he took three wickets for 16 runs and played an important role in helping his team win the match by one run. The final was played at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. There were also scouts of Rajasthan Royals in this match. But Rajasthan did not choose him, rather Mumbai chose him as a net bowler.
