Chennai: The team of Chennai Super Kings is in excellent form at the moment. This team, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is seen in its old colour. This time this team is once again being considered as the contender for the title. In this performance of the team, its opener Devon Conway has made an excellent contribution. Even on Sunday, this batsman played a brilliant inning against Punjab Kings and scored a half-century and has left Pakistan’s Babar Azam behind.

This season, Conway has become the life of the team’s batting and is scoring runs continuously. His bat is continuously showering half-centuries. Conway showed his bat while playing against Punjab at Chepauk Stadium.

Hit fifth half-century of the season

Conway completed his 50 off 30 balls against Punjab. He along with his opening partner Ritukaj Gaikwad once again gave the team a strong start. Both shared an 86-run partnership for the first wicket. Rituraj Gaikwad could only score 37 runs and got out. But Conway continued his game. He completed his 50 runs by hitting a four on the third ball of the 14th over.

This is his fifth half-century of this season. He has already hit Fifty in four consecutive matches. Conway could not do anything special in the first three matches. He was able to score only one run against Gujarat Titans. He missed a half-century by three runs against Lucknow Super Giants. He could not even open an account against Mumbai Indians. After that he scored half-centuries in four consecutive matches. He was able to score eight runs against Rajasthan but then played a brilliant inning against Punjab.

Left Babar Azam behind

In this match, Conway left Pakistan captain Babar Azam behind. Conway has completed 5000 thousand runs in his T20 career in this match. He is the third fastest batsman to reach this milestone in T20. Before him is the name of Chris Gayle and KL Rahul. Gayle completed 5000 runs in 132 innings and Rahul in 143 innings. Conway has done this work in 144 innings.

The position at which Conway is playing in Chennai was once played by Faf Duplesey. But last season Chennai could not connect him with them and Duplessi went to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Devon Conway came in his place. This batsman has fulfilled the trust that the Chennai team showed on Conway and has been contributing brilliantly to the team’s success so far. However, he could not complete the century against Punjab and remained unbeaten after scoring 92 runs in 52 balls. He has hit one six and 16 fours in his innings.
