Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants, captained by KL Rahul, once again lost at home in IPL-2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow by 18 runs at their home on Monday. With this, Bangalore took revenge of the defeat they got from Lucknow at home. This is Lucknow’s third consecutive defeat at home.

Batting first on the difficult pitch of Lucknow, Bangalore scored 126 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. Lucknow could score only 108 runs in 19.4 overs in front of this target. Lucknow missed its captain Rahul who could not start the innings due to injury. He suffered a thigh injury while fielding. He came to bat at number 11.

didn’t get off to a good start

Chasing the target of 127 runs, the Lucknow team did not get a good start. Lucknow batsman Kyle Meyers was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj on the second ball of the very first over. Meyers could not even open the account and Anuj Rawat took his brilliant catch. Ayush Badhoni, who came to open in place of KL Rahul, was also dismissed after scoring four runs.

Krunal Pandya was about to get into good rhythm when Glenn Maxwell showed him the way to the pavilion on a personal score of 14. Deepak Hooda also got out after scoring one run.

Pooran-Stoinis fail

Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis, who snatched victory from Bangalore in the last match, could not do anything special in this match. Pooran was dismissed by Karn Sharma. Mahipal Lomrod took his brilliant catch. He was able to score only nine runs in seven balls. Karn Sharma ended Stoinis’s innings. He could only score 13 runs.

Krishnappa Gautam, who was included in the playing-11 in this match, was batting well. He was becoming the hope of Lucknow but he was run out in the process of taking two runs. Gautam scored 23 runs in 13 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. Lucknow could not return from here again. Rahul came to bat in the end but he was not able to run. Could not open the account after playing three balls. Harshal Patel ended Bangalore’s innings by dismissing Amit Mishra (19).

Bangalore’s smooth start

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave a solid start to the Bangalore team. Both recognized the wicket and batted carefully. Both of them shared a 62-run partnership for the first wicket. Virat Kohli went to hit a big shot off Ravi Bishnoi and got stumped. With this, this partnership broke. Virat scored 31 runs in 30 balls.

Glenn Maxwell also got LBW on Bishnoi’s ball. He could not take his innings beyond four runs. After this, Duplessy fought alone and could not find anyone to support him. Suyash Prabhudesai could score only six runs.

captain misses half century

Faf Duplesey was doing his job from one end. But he could not complete his half-century. Duplessy wanted to play a big shot on the ball of Amit Mishra but the ball took the edge of his bat and Krunal Pandya took his brilliant catch. Duplessi scored 44 runs in 40 balls with the help of a four and a six.

After his departure, the batsmen of the team quickly returned to the pavilion. Only three Bangalore batsmen could reach Dahai. Apart from Virat and Duplessy, only Dinesh Karthik could reach double digits. Karthik scored 16 runs in 11 balls. He hit a four and a six.

Superb bowling from Lucknow

The bowlers of Lucknow also bowled brilliantly in this match. Naveen-ul-Haq took three wickets for 30 runs in four overs. Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets for 21 runs in four overs. Bishnoi did not eat a single boundary. Amit Mishra took two wickets for 21 runs in three overs. Gautam got a success.
