Mohali: Jitesh Sharma, the young wicketkeeper-batsman of Punjab Kings, is constantly rocking this season. Whenever Jitesh comes on the field, he hits long sixes. This season, he is doing this work in almost every match and he continued the same work on Tuesday against Mumbai Indians. He thrashed the Mumbai bowlers fiercely in the IPL-2023 match at the IS Bindra Stadium.

Jitesh beat every bowler of Mumbai in this match. He came out to bat at number five and shared a century partnership with Liam Livingston to take Punjab to 214 for three in 20 overs. He shared a 119-run partnership with Livingston off 53 balls.

Jitesh came to bat in the 12th over in this match. He took a single off the first ball and then got a chance to bat in the next over itself. In this over of Joffra Archer, who brought the 13th over, Jitesh hit three fours. In the next over, he hit a brilliant six off Kumar Kartikeya. Jitesh did not stop from here again. Jitesh, however, could not complete his first IPL half-century and remained unbeaten on 49 runs. He played this innings in 27 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.

This is also his highest score of this season. Earlier, he had scored 41 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. This is not the first time Jitesh is showing his bat power. Earlier in the last season too, he had batted brilliantly. Jitesh played 12 matches last season and scored 234 runs at a strike rate of 163.64.

Jitesh has impressed everyone with his game. For this reason, Kevin Pietersen of England praised him fiercely and called him an alternative to Rishabh Pant in Team India. Even before this both these teams have come face to face. The match was played between Punjab and Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium on 22 April. In this match, Jitesh scored 25 runs in seven balls by hitting four sixes. Punjab had won this match by 13 runs.
