Gujarat’s easy victory

The Gujarat bowlers had already prepared the foundation for this victory by dismissing Rajasthan for just 118 runs. Still the batsmen needed to complete their work. Given the difficulty in getting small scores in the past, there was a possibility of something like this happening here too, but the pair of Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha did not let this happen.

Gill and Saha shared a 71-run partnership in 9.4 overs, which sealed the victory. Gill definitely became the victim of Yuzvendra Chahal but it was too late for Rajasthan’s return. Captain Hardik Pandya, who came at number three, closed all the doors in one over of Adam Zampa with three sixes and 1 four in four consecutive balls. Gujarat won on the fifth ball of the 14th over.

One accidentally overturned bet

As far as Rajasthan’s innings is concerned, the spin duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed wreaked havoc in it. However, before that the team was looking in good shape as captain Sanju Samson was doing explosive batting. Samson, who came after Jos Buttler’s early dismissal, hit Hardik for two consecutive sixes.

Together with Yashasvi Jaiswal, he was taking the team forward, but a mistake here turned the situation upside down. Due to a misunderstanding on the very first ball of the sixth over, Yashasvi was run out and then in the very next over, Samson also kept walking. From here the entire innings of Rajasthan faltered.

Afghan spin conundrum

Rashid and Noor made their victims with bold and LBW while dodging the bats of Rajasthani batsmen and stacked the whole team for 118 runs in the 18th over itself. Rashid gave only 14 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets, while his junior left-arm spinner Noor took 2 victims. Apart from them, Mohammed Shami, Hardik and Josh Little also got wickets.
