Ahmedabad: India’s young batsman Shubman Gill has once again shown the power of his bat in IPL-2023. Gill scored a half-century while batting brilliantly in the match being played against Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. This is Gill’s fifth half-century of this season. With this, Gill has taken revenge for the last match from Lucknow.

This is the second match of Lucknow and Gujarat this season. Earlier, both the teams met face to face on April 22 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Gujarat had won in this match. Gill failed miserably in this match and could not even open the account after playing two balls. He was sent to the pavilion by Hardik Pandya.

brawl with Saha

Gill is opening the innings this season with Wriddhiman Saha. In this match, both gave a strong start to the team and scored fast. Saha was scoring fast and Gill was supporting him. However, when Gill was getting a chance, he was collecting runs. Gill completed his 50 runs by taking a single off Krunal Pandya on the first ball of the 12th over. This is his fourth half-century of this season.

In this innings, he did a wonderful job. Gill faced 29 balls till he scored 50 runs and hit four sixes. But during this time not a single four came out of his bat. Gill had scored 68 runs in 36 balls and till then no four had come out of his bat. He hit his first four to Mohsin Khan on the fourth ball of the 16th over.

Century partnership with Saha

Saha and Gill gave a stormy start to the team. Both added 142 runs for the first wicket. This partnership broke on the first ball of the 13th over. Avesh Khan broke this partnership by dismissing Saha. But even after this, Gill did not stop and kept scoring fast. The way Gill was batting, it seemed that he would complete the century but in the last over he did not get enough balls to play. Gill took 51 balls. Scored an unbeaten 94 with the help of two fours and seven sixes. If Gill had scored a century, it would have been his first IPL century.
