New Delhi: Making the record of the most successful bowler of the world’s biggest cricket tournament IPL and yet that record is covered in the shadow of another record. Rajasthan Royals registered a comfortable 9-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. first became number 1 bowler

Chahal, who has put many important spells for Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been doing the same thing for Rajasthan since last season. One such bowling spell was seen against Kolkata, where he spent only 25 runs in his 4 overs and got 4 very important wickets. His victims were Nitish Rana, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur.

Then put a break on KKR in 2 overs

This record is very special in itself, but more important than the record were those two overs of Chahal, who prevented Kolkata from reaching the big score. Chahal gave 3 runs in his first over while 15 runs were spent in the second over. But the real test came after this, which are called ‘death overs’. Chahal was handed the ball in the 17th over and the star leg-spinner put the brakes on KKR.

Chahal not only showed miserliness in the matter of runs in this over and gave only 4 runs, but also took the wickets of Venkatesh Iyer and Shardul Thakur, who had scored half-centuries.

Before this over, Kolkata’s score was 127 runs for 4 wickets in 16 overs, which became 131 runs and 6 wickets. Then Chahal came again in the 19th over. In T20 cricket, the 19th over is considered the most difficult. Even more difficult for a leg-spinner but Chahal showed courage and took the wicket of a deadly batsman like Rinku Singh and gave only 3 runs.

Lost first, won this time

Apparently, in the last 4 overs in which maximum runs are scored, Chahal bowled two and took 3 big wickets while spending only 7 runs. Chahal had done something similar in the last match as well. While defending the score against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chahal gave only 3 runs in the 18th over and took 2 big wickets to bring the team back into the match. Although that match still went out of Rajasthan’s hands, but this time it did not happen.
